Amos I. Goodman and his 1st wife, Sarah (Conway) Goodman, came to Hart, then
Barren Co., from Greene Co., TN about 1806/7. Sarah died ca 1809, and Amos I.
Goodman remarried in 1810, just before Barren Co. was split to form Hart Co., to
Mourning Jones, of Madison Co. This cemetery contains the graves of Amos and
Mourning, its oldest burials, and many of their descendants and in-laws. Stephen
Goodman, a brother of Amos, is buried in the Polston Cemetery, Hart Co.
This family cemetery is still in use and well kept. It sits on what remains of
the Amos I. Goodman farm, and immediately adjacent to his original house, since
modernized and well maintained, and still owned by his descendants. The original
logs are now covered over by siding. Near the house are the remains of the
blacksmith shop of his son, Amos Moore Goodman.
From Louisville, take I65 South to the Perryville / Munfordville exit. From
Nashville, take I65 north to the Munfordville exit. Proceed to Munfordville Town
Center. From Munfordville Town Center, telephone Virginia Goodman for final
directions and to arrange to visit the cemetery.

is from inaccurate genealogy research done by a 3rd party ca

Sarah Goodman Richardson Fowler, sister of Amos I. Goodman |
