I wish to acknowledge the help of all who contributed their memoirs, so I could write the histories of the families mentioned in this story. Our memories are not infallible, and if the events did not happen exactly as I have written them, they could have. Some of those who contributed were, Ed Routh, Luther Routh, Lois Floyd, Ruby Hornbeck, Lola Strange, Clarence Castlebury and Ray Routh on the Routh and Swindler side. Eva Baker, Mary Holden, Mary Blocher, William Falwell, Florence Goodman, and Roy Goodman who inspired me to write this story, on the Goodman and Blocher side. Last but not least, my husband, Ray, who had the patience to see me through to the very end.
